Bob,
=0D
In as much as we are concerned with Man-the-Scientist, and since science
concerns the empirical and logical pursuit of truth, and since constructs=
are
bi-polar, and since lies are generaly recognized to be the opposite of
truth, is it not curious that so little PCP attention and research have b=
een
directed to the issue of Lies. I am interested to know how you think we m=
ight
develop a PCP discipline wide concern for the measurement, meaning, and
consequences of lies.
=0D
Perhaps John Ruskin's view will help begin the discourse:
=0D
"the essence of lying is in deception, not in words; a lie may be told by=

silence, by equivocation, by the accent on a syllable, by a glance of the=

eyes attachng a peculiar significance to a sentence; and all these kinds =
of
lies are worse and baser by many degrees than a lie plainly worded."
=0D
Your thoughts will be much appreciated. Perhaps by working together, in t=
he
spirit of the pursuit and love of truth, you and I can open up a new and
fruitful avenue of PCP research.
=0D
Sincerely,
=0D
William Chambers
