I agree with your adding a SOCIAL component to the ethics discussion. You are
correct. Society's need to collectively create ethical construct systems
which they can use. Obviously, if every one of us has his/her own idiosyn-
-cratic ethics, then chaos would likely result. However, my intention in
talking anout individual ethical construing was to emphasize what I see to
be the CREATIVE dimension of ethics. I still see ethics--both personal and
societal (because not all members of a society share all ethical viewpoints,
even when they agree on most) as something we all must take seriously and which
we all must CONSTRUCT. I just don't believe in Natural Law, I guess.
