Vicki,

I'm not going to intervene in this discussion, but I can't help noticing
that you are using the phrase "female desire" rather than "the desires of
females". Is there a difference in these two constructs for you? It would
seem to me odd to try to research "child (elderly) desire" rather than "the
desires of children (older people)", or to research "African (caucasian)
desire" rather than "the desires of Africans (caucasians)". This linguistic
turn of phrase may reflect the essentialist approach of some feminists, and
may restrict rather than open your inquiry.
