About Brief Family Therapy Center
A not-for-profit research and training center founded in 1978, BFTC has pioneered in the development of effective brief therapy methods. While studying the client/therapist interaction, the center has contributed many ideas to the field of brief therapy. BFTC is known as the home of solution-focused therapy, where, in 1982, exceptions to problems were first identified. Since then, the miracle question and innovative uses of scaling questions have been developed. This tradition of advancing the knowledge of brief therapy continues with the development of more advanced methods, innovative solution-focused training techniques, supervision of supervisors and training for trainers.
