Narrative Solutions - Solution Narratives

by

Michael White and Steve de Shazer

October 11 & 12 1996

Milwaukee, Wisconsin

Registration Form

Narrative Therapy and Solution-Focused Therapy offers two of the most promising alternatives to the medical model so long dominant in the field. White & de Shazer both have challenged the pathologizing and deficit-based thinking and practices that have saturated the field. Both offer ways to re-conceptualize psychotherapy that are competence-based and respectful of clients. Their focus on strength and solutions places them at the cutting edge of a new tradition of social constuctivism and psychotherapy.

In this first ever joint endeavor, two of the foremost leaders in the field will compare and contrast their clinical work. Hear their thoughts and reflections on their own and on each others work.

Join this conversation as audience, participant, and colleague in the process of examining similarities and differences
