Counselor Constructs

Caroline Cook's most recent message includes:

<My current idea is to look at the differences between counselors and
<non-counselors

"Way to go", as they say! (See my recent mailing.)

("_One_ way to go!", as a constructive alternativist might say.)

Bronwyn Seaborn then writes these wise words:

<So I worry that if a research project seeks to compare experienced vs.
<inexperienced, age may well be a confounding variable. (I don't know if Devi
<and Peggy took that into account with their project).

No, we didn't, and my memory of the two groups would certainly support an
impression of a greater median age for the Masters' students. Hic sunt
lacrimae! Bronwyn's right; best control for age if you should happen to
repeat this design.

(By-the-by: I posted a direct reply to the address you gave in your
original mailing, Caroline, and got a bounce from my Internet provider.
Might be worth checking out?)

Kind regards,
