To be held at the University of Birmingham,
on Saturday 23rd March 1996.

The Research Subcommittee of the British Association for Counselling
in association with the School of Continuing Studies, University of
Birmingham is organising the Second Annual Counselling Research
Conference at the University of Birmingham on Saturday 23rd March
1996.

The aim of the conference is to promote awareness and appreciation of
research by giving an opportunity to anyone engaged in counselling
research to share their ideas and findings. Papers are invited from
both experienced researchers and those who might have recently
completed a Masters project or small scale study. The conference will
include a keynote address by *Professor Robert Elliott*, of the
University of Toledo, Ohio, USA, talking about qualitative research.

Submissions for conference papers can be concerned with research into
any area of counselling. Papers will be grouped into topic areas, and
speakers will be given 20 minutes to present their ideas to a fairly
small group of up to 25 participants.

Anyone interested in giving a paper at this conference should submit
an *Abstract* (maximum 400 words) by Friday 12th January 1996 to:
