I suspect that these copies all were generated when I tried to use
the 'reply' mode to respond to a message on a list (PCP) to which I
subscribe. I received several successive messages from within our own local
University system that my repeated attempts to send this respone were
hanging up before I finally gave up and contacted the individual directly.
