BIDS-IBSS Online is pleased to announce that the full back
set of 600,000 records collected by the International
Bibliography of the Social Sciences between 1951 and 1980
has now been converted into electronic format and loaded
into the BIDS-IBSS Online service.
The IBSS Online service now contains over 1,500,000
references to social science publications from all over the
world, with a further 90,000 records added annually in the
form of weekly updates. Over 13,500 records refer to works
in the field of psychology.
With the addition of the early data, IBSS Online can offer a
fascinating historical dimension to the service which it
provides, including the perspective which it gives on the
development of the social sciences themselves.
IBSS Online is free at the point of use for all members of
UK higher education institutions which are funded by the
HEFCs and for ESRC recognised independent research
institutes. To obtain a username and password please
contact your institution's library or information service.
We regret that this service is not yet available outside the
UK.
