ontological acceleration

Hello everyone
I've been re-reading 'ontological acceleration' with a view to
writing about the ideas in it. Does anyone know the circumstances
in which it was written? It doesn't appear to have been published
before its appearance in the Maher volume, and I wonder whether it
was planned as a talk, as notes for the book he never wrote, or he
intended publishing it as it was. The date given is 1966, so can we
assume it was one of the last things he wrote, perhaps after his
heart attack?
I'd be grateful for any information
