Dear PCP Maillist friends,

The recent discussion concerning the intended focus of this list has
brought me to the conclusion that I have been participating under a
serious, now-obvious misapprehension.

You see, I came to the list as a result of a Net Search for
'constructivism.' But, as I now realize, the term 'constructivism'
applies to the Journal, not to this List [see edited Home Page
attachment]. And, even then, it may apply in a way I am not interpreting
consistent with the interpretation of the editors of the Journal.

So, I feel like I have abused your hospitality, plain and simple.
Unintentionally, to be sure, but abused it, nonetheless. And for that I
sincerely apologize.

I guess my enthusiasm for a more general view of constructivism blinded
me to the particulars of this list, and caused me to read in an
interpretation that you did not intend.

Nevertheless, I have benefitted from the confusion, as a result of my
dialogues with many of you. As I have given thought to your points and
concerns, and reviewed my own and written back to you, I have come to
many new realizations and awarenesses. I think it quite unlikely this
would have happened without the informed and articulate responsiveness
you have shown. So I want to sincerely thank you.

I am not leaving. I just like to take action and set things straight,
once I realize what's going on. And that's where I am today.

Now I will focus on figuring out if there would, or might be, value, for
you or me in my further participation. And then I'll get back to you.
Promise.

Apologetically, and appreciatively, Gary

Personal Construct Psychology

PCP List Server [Truncated, emphasis added, by GFB]

David Nightingale has set up an email list server for discussion of all issues relating to personal construct psychology:

Journal of Constructivist Psychology

Psychology and related disciplines in the human sciences have been revolutionized by both technical advances in the study of knowing systems, and a postmodern emphasis on the role of language, discourse, and personal knowledge in the construction of social realities. The Journal of Constructivist Psychology is the first publication to provide a professional forum for this emerging focus, embracing such diverse expressions of constructivism as personal construct theory, structural-developmental and social constructionist approaches, constructivist family therapy, and narrative psychology. Each issue of the journal features departments highlighting theoretical, empirical, and methodological developments in ....
