Thanks for all this. Looks great. I've only had time to scan read
your doc file (probably not worth sending those to the list in future
as there's no way we can make head or tail of what gets into the WWW
archive. Just put a note on the bottom of a message like this
telling me that the info. is in a file of whatever name and that it
is in the FTP directory with the rest.

I'll have more time tomorrow to go through all you've done and then
we can get to grips with doing some serious work on that dataset (and
the complexities of looking at the change patterns).

You asked for some random numbers. I faffed around recreating the
Perl/WWW form combination I did months ago (that then got destroyed
in a disc crash when the computer unit had omitted to tell me they
weren't backing up!) I've succeeded but Perl now seems to crash my
WWW/FTP server (in fact my whole machine seems desperately unstable
at the moment). Nothing is ever simple huh?

AHA (flashing lights in brain) I think I've worked out what's wrong
with that program. Tomorrow p.m. you might poke a WWW browser at:

http://psyctc.sghms.ac.uk/simple-form.html

_IF_ you can get me on the 'phone at the time. I'd appreciate
watching what happens when someone uses this and I'd also appreciate
feedback about how to make it more useful. Anyway...

You should find three files rannumb1.txt to rannumb3.txt in the FTP
directory which you can GET to a local directory. They were created
using Perl.

You also asked about the invoices. I've forgotten the name but it was
you're nice finance colleague. I 'faxed and posted them. I've had a
spate of people not getting things (including when I sent them
payment orders so I believe them!) Do I take it they _still_ haven't
got there? If so, can we sort this out together by 'fax, confirming
success tomorrow p.m. if it's still feasible. I'm desperate for
money to cover cost of replacement machine.

Must dash. Best wishes to both (and a returning MB?)

Chris
