Dear Janice and everyone,

I had thought that the Gaskell ethnic minorities work would be
largely getting opinions from workers in the field, and possibly some
piloting with a range of patients.

They would not all be patients of this service, but those that are
could be linked to any other data we are collecting.

I do not think we can realistically get a sample from all of the
relevant ethnic minorities to produce differnent mormative data: we
will just have enough to see whether there are obvious
inconsistencies.

The next step would be to try out translations into other languages
but that is beyond our means unless we can get someone just to do a
"working draft" version: Graeme, should we ask Kanta to translate
into Urdu and ? Gujerati and then pilot for acceptability etc amongst
non-patient samples as a first step?

Best wishes to all

Frank
