{"id":2922,"date":"2017-08-11T16:46:13","date_gmt":"2017-08-11T15:46:13","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.psyctc.org\/pelerinage2016\/?p=2922"},"modified":"2017-08-12T21:33:49","modified_gmt":"2017-08-12T20:33:49","slug":"day-eleven-was-blois-to-brehemont-quick-reflections-in-2017","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.psyctc.org\/pelerinage2016\/day-eleven-was-blois-to-brehemont-quick-reflections-in-2017\/","title":{"rendered":"Day eleven was Blois to Br\u00e9h\u00e9mont, quick reflections in 2017"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This will be quick as daughter and I are off to Heathrow to meet J back from her three week work\/leave trip to India.\u00a0 I hope J will appreciate us arriving: she knows that it&#8217;s my idea of a nightmare for jsut two of us to get into an metal box powered by an infernal combustion engine (a diesel one to make things worse, though we can plead that when we bought it people were still saying they were the right thing to do).\u00a0 It&#8217;s even been a nice day here, almost perfect for cycling with high cirrhus now cooling things fast.<\/p>\n<p>Not only are we getting into the (smallish) tank, but we&#8217;re doing it just on the rush hour, on a Friday, and going to be on the M4 as everyone floods out of London for the weekend.\u00a0 Aargghhh.\u00a0 Probably should have gone at midday but then the parking fees at Heathrow would have needed a second mortgage.<\/p>\n<p>There is something appropriate about going off to meet J though as this day last year was the last before I would meet up with her for our &#8220;week off&#8221;, using said infernally combusting tank to explore the south of France leaving Tito-to-be locked up safely somewhere.\u00a0 I wanted to get to from Blois to Cahors to be well on my way south by the time we met up, but we&#8217;ll come back to that.<\/p>\n<p>There was one detour near the start, just after loading up with food as I remember it.\u00a0 This time I realised pretty rapidly that we shouldn&#8217;t be climbing if the route, as I knew it should, was going to on the South of the Loire again.\u00a0 Here&#8217;s the pertinent bit of track from last year.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-2923\" src=\"http:\/\/www.psyctc.org\/pelerinage2016\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/Blois_detours_20160811-283x300.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"283\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.psyctc.org\/pelerinage2016\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/Blois_detours_20160811-283x300.png 283w, https:\/\/www.psyctc.org\/pelerinage2016\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/Blois_detours_20160811-142x150.png 142w, https:\/\/www.psyctc.org\/pelerinage2016\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/Blois_detours_20160811.png 580w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 283px) 100vw, 283px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Hm. It&#8217;s funny looking at that a year on. The change in colour of the track confirms that I&#8217;d stopped.
