# PPV (Positive Predictive Value)

Crucial parameter of any simple screening design: the probability that someone scoring above the screening cutting point does have the problem. Complement of NPV (Negative Predictive Value). See details in [screening](https://www.psyctc.org/psyctc/glossary2/screening/) and the [shiny app](https://shiny.psyctc.org/apps/Screening/) that allows you to get the NPV and PPV for any screening measure given the sensitivity and specificity of the measure and prevalence of the problem.
