If you can legally collect ethnicity data and if ethnicity locally is not completely homogenous then the devil is in the detail as, of course, ethnicity is hugely complex and there are certainly no globally, internationally applicable classification systems and even within one country it is often hard to find systems that are quick enough to use but also collect genuinely useful data. As so often we hit “cell size” issues analysing change or other variables by ethnicity and if sharing data it’s particularly important to make sure that rare ethnicities don’t create risks of de-anonymisation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
