Subject: Re: Special issue of BJP on psychotherapy/CORE

Dear COREs

Yes, sounds good to me - Frank leading on review paper; Chris
leading on psychometric paper - great. I thought EBMH artcles
looked classy.

Yes, we need to coordinate on 101 things and certainly these
'smaller projects' is one of them. I think we should go with these
types of projects because they increase the credibility of CORE
beyond the traditional WASP samples. I should declare the
following: 1. I have a potential PhD person that Chris and I are very
interested in pursuing. 2. We also have strong likelihood of a
foothold in Bahrain. 3. I also have a 3rd year student currentl
ygoing thro' ethics committee for an inpatient sample at Fulbourn.
4. I think I've almost secured matched funding from Leeds CMHT
and DoH to use Leeds as a demonstration site to run FACE and
CORE together to test them as being on a continuum. This would
be important for a joint London launch of CORE-FACE.

Also, following a 'tip off' that we should sent CORE measure and
Handbook to Paul Lelliott, it would seem sensible to draw up a list
of key people in the UK that we think should know about CORE
System and send them a free copy of Handbook and Measure.
One way to do this is for named people on the CORE headed
paper to 'pen' a personal note to identified people and then
send/give these to Leeds base and we'll send out the packs. Let's
start with 5 key people each that we think should know about it.
Please forward names to Jan.

We've also had our first 'high-quality' enquiry from the States which
raises the same issue as above for the US - again, a small list of
key names and send them Handbook and measures. Clearly, we
should view any quality requests from the States as 'lost-leaders' -
getting a foothold in the States could be worth ..........

Any immediate comments meant for me personally should be sent
to Leeds address for Thursday, otherwise I'm on leave for 2 weeks.

Best wishes
Michael
