Not many images from this day but clearly I was catching up with blogging back in 2016 and actually added three posts: “123456789=!”£$%^&*(+asdfjklASDFJKLbnBN”, about roadkill and its relatives, roadcrud and roadsplat and about road surfaces and tree roots. They go a long way to convey my state of mind. I was tempted to correct the typos in them and realised that they actually reflected the difficulties I was having with the USB keyboard and laptop. (Which I still have and which still works, with a replaced keyboard, but which is now hopelessly underpowered for most of my IT work.)

That is a bit more detail of a typical "load up" for the day ahead. I guess there's about 5 litres of fluid there in that mix of milk drinks and orange juice and some snacks with salt replacement. I am sure a dietician wouldn't approve but that sort of thing got me through and I usually managed to find an evening meal on top. But what a lot of tissues, was my nose playing up?!
I do vaguely remember those muddles with the route right at the start and I think they were probably my errors failing to zoom out enough on the Gurgle map. The header image was of the beach on the Étang de Cazaut-Sanguinet (the opposite side to the beach from the day before!) Then I only add this for amusement.

I would have guessed "ribbed" or "irregular" for "rugueuse" but Gurgle suggests "rugged", "rasping" and "scabrous". I really like "scabrous" and do remember that the cycle track was pretty grim in places! (And yes, "bandes" = "bands"!)
And here's a rather different amusement.
Samsung Galaxy J5
The EXIF information says that that was taken on my then Samsung Galaxy J5 and it repeatedly flared out images like that. I think I would have been wiping the lens gently so I think that was internal condensation or the effects of heat. Condensation doesn't really make sense as it was rare in the early shots of a day so I think it was heat.
There seem to be a lot of jiggles in my route at the end in Mimizan and I don't remember where I spent the night, shopped or perhaps ate but I think I was camping. Funny what comes back clearly and what doesn't. I do think I was getting a bit tired of the mishaps with the route, struggles with "bandes rugueuses" and sand on the road and really longing to make more progress but recognising that I was pushing myself as fast as I could.
