This is a funny day to revisit and I’m now a couple of days behind as it suited me, after a family wedding reception on Saturday, to have a 2026 rest day from the pélerinage particularly as there is already a brief blog post “We have a blog!” from the day itself and a collection of images: Photos from Chartres (9/8/16). Some day I must find time to work out (a) how that gallery in the photo page is such a nice grid unlike the galleries I have created as I relive the pélerinage and (b) whether I can replace the larger images you get when you click on the images with full sized ones. However, I am now two days behind so that’s technical stuff and not for now.
Just a brief thought now that it was rather fitting that the family wedding that set the termination date for the pélerinage as I had to be back for it, was that of the brother of the bride getting married this Saturday just gone. Pilgrimages and weddings and wedding receptions are important rituals going back probably before written records, I like that I’ve been exploring them, and sharing them. But now … onwards to catch up with myself back in 2016.
