False negative rate/risk (inferential testing)

Same as the “Type II error rate”, i.e. the risk that a statistical test will not reject the null hypothesis. Depends on the effect size (q.v.), the statistical power (q.v.) of the test and very much on the sample size(s). See inferential testing for more detail.
