Measure

In Counselling and Psychotherapy a measure generally refers to a standardised way of gathering data/information about a specified psychological variable (these are very diverse and could be linked to characteristics of the person, for example extraversion, or a symptom, for example anxiety). Broadly speaking these split into self-report and observer rated with many subsets in those two main groups. Typically the “dependent variable” in analyses of data.
